It's ok. He's obviously got a good grasp of constitutionalism and relevant US history so his ideas have a certain credibility; Unfortunately it doesn't really come off as hard hitting and compelling. I would really like to see a ton more citations and expounding on each logical step in his otherwise sensible conjectures. I think maybe he goes too far in demanding a truly balanced budget but I think we are so far off the deep end these days some things like supermajority to raise debt ceiling may be quite appropriate. Again its ok, really more of a good jumping off point for class research and having the constitution reprint in there may make it an good auxiliary textbook for a US Govt course.Product details

Mike Lee has written a very perceptive and practical exploration of the need for a balanced budget amendment. Americans who want their country to continue for their children and grandchildren would do well to heed what Mike has to say.
Good insight into Lee's perspective how to reign in an out of control Congress. He argues the use of the balance budget amendment as a tool to decrease control of Congress over our lives.
This is a fantastic book for those just learning about politics and the correct principles in understanding how government is required to work for us "we the people". Also a good read for those that are educated in the process as well. If you want to learn the importance of what government should do for us, and where we can help take a stand, I recommend this. Forward with Hope, and Upward with Freedom.
Mike does a great job in describing the very evil things that are being promoted in our current political world but better yet it gives you hope that we can defeat this anti-American Agenda.
Lee is the best
Great book!
I wish every American would this book. Senator Mike Lee is astute in streamlining the constitution. For such a scholarly individual his writing is wonderfully down to earth. This book is a great foundation for anyone seeking answers to explain our current state of the nation and it's origins. There are many other authored related books out there but I believe this book is the best. It is uncomplicated, giving the reader a lasting understanding of fundamental constitutional law and government workings.
